#4420 – Vantage Point

Good morning people who ask to see things from God’s Perspective

I recently saw two pictures of a forest of trees. Both pictures were of the same forest, but the perspective was very different in the two pictures.

In the first picture. I saw someone standing on top of a mountain. They were looking down on a valley. In this valley was the forest of trees, a flowing stream, and beautiful fields of flowers. The whole scene was a picture of beauty and I had a sense of awe at God’s marvellous creation.

In the second picture, I saw another person who was standing in that very same forest of trees. However, from where they were standing in this forest, the sunlight was obscured, and due to the density of the trees, they felt lost and they didn’t know which way to go.

The same forest, but very different perspectives.

And so it is in life. Many times we are seeing the same things as others, but our description of what is happening couldn’t be any different. It’s not that one person is telling the truth and the other one is lying. Both are honestly describing what they are seeing.

This is a vivid picture of what is happening in the spiritual realm too. As we walk through life, we are invited up to God’s vantage point; we have the privilege of having the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)

The question is not: Are you seeing reality?

The question is: Are you seeing reality from a natural perspective or from God’s perspective?
