#4352 – Different Positions

Good morning people who do not become enslaved to a certain style

Luke 5:1, 3 NIV One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God…He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

It’s a small detail but it is a big insight: Jesus preached standing up and He preached sitting down.

Sometimes we can place too much emphasise and weight on structures, styles and ways of doing things. Sometimes we can get locked in to “That’s not how I do things”, or “I’m not really comfortable doing things that way.”

I remember the time and place when God spoke clearly to me in Russia and said, “You can prophesy over anyone, anywhere, anytime.” It was a word of release and freedom to my spirit. It was a word from God that brought confidence to me.

As a worship leader and musician, I have had plenty of times when I was too focused on needing the right music in order to minister freely. Yet I have been reminded by God that Jesus never had a keyboard player or guitarist following Him around in order to create some perfect environment.

So, what’s my point?

Don’t lock yourself into a style and limit yourself to a perfect environment. The Spirit of God in you is Who you need! So go for it, shine in any and in every environment, and may it all be for the glory of God.
