#4284 – When We Fall

Good morning whose God is redemptive ahead of time

Genesis 2:16-17 NIV 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Not “if”, but “when”.

God knows what we are going to do before we do it.

This should not lead to a fatalistic outlook on life or to a lack of taking responsibility for our actions. This is not Father’s focus in this verse.

When I read this verse, the following scripture comes to my mind:

Luke 22:32: “When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

This instruction was given by Jesus to Peter when Jesus prophesied about Peter’s upcoming denial of Him. They were not words to condemn, but words to reaffirm!

On this journey of life, we will make some wrong choices. God knows this, yet He loves us more than we know! This is good news! This is truth!

So if you feel far away from God today because of what you have done (or not done), God knew ahead of time and He stands before you today with open arms of mercy and love.

Will you step towards Him in humility and repentance and receive all you need?
