Good morning people who connect people with God

Matthew 23:25-26 NKJV Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

It’s so easy to try and change external behaviour but a much more efficient way of seeing lasting change is for the inside to be changed first.

I once had a conversation with a great friend of mine who is a pastor. He was telling me that in the last six weeks they had seen 36 people saved!!! Now that is something to celebrate and rejoice about!!! Heaven is having a party whenever this happens.

I noticed two things about this conversation.

Firstly, they are seeing people come to Christ through the justice side of their Church life. It is not predominately through weekend meetings but through their food bank and other community focused initiatives. They are showing the love of Christ in action with no strings attached. People can’t help but be attracted to a Jesus that cares for them enough to feed them.

Secondly, they don’t immediately tell people to stop doing wrong things because when God tells them it is much more powerful and lasting. They focus on introducing them to this loving God through their acts of kindness. Within a short period of time, the new Believers initiate a meeting to talk about some things in their lives they are not comfortable with. God initiates the change through Holy Spirit conviction!
