Good morning people who walk humbly before a loving God

Sometimes we learn lessons the easy way and sometimes we learn lessons the hard way. Humility is one of life’s lessons that we will learn. The only question is will we humble ourselves or will God humble us?

Matthew 23:12 NKJV And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

James 4:6 NKJV But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

There was a time when I was humbled by God because I didn’t humble myself. God stood in my way with a large STOP sign and said, “It’s time to deal with this now Steve”.

I then had a choice. I either react against God’s intervention or embrace it as the actions of a loving Father who disciplines the ones He loves. I have chosen to see the fingerprints of God at this time and I want to move forward as He has instructed us in this passage.

Hebrews 12:11 NIV No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

I want to be trained by the discipline of a loving God. I want it to produce a harvest of righteousness and peace.

I pray that if this word of encouragement is for you today, that you embrace it and that you humble yourself – trust me, it’s the less painful way and it leads to the fruit of righteousness and peace.
