#4099 – Intimate God

Good morning people who don’t serve a dead man-made god

John 15:5 NIV I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.

  1. God is INTIMATE; “If you REMAIN IN ME and I IN YOU, you will bear much fruit.”

Sometimes we gloss over the depth of what some words mean. The word ‘remain’ in this verse is one of those words.

It does not mean ‘to simply make a decision’.

This is what it means:

‘To stay in a given place, state, relation or expectancy, abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, stand, tarry, not to depart, to continue to be present, to be held, kept, continually, to last, to remain as one, not to become another or different’

God has made the following covenant with us:

Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Wow! What an intimate and wonderful covenantal God we have!

God has made this covenant with us…

have we made this covenant with God?
