#3815 – Our Provider

Good morning people who know that provision comes from our Father

Matthew 6:11 NIV Give us today our daily bread.

Upon the right foundation of acknowledgement of and worship of our Omniscient Father, prayer is a request to Him to supply our needs.

I see humility in this prayer, not weakness.

I see trust in this prayer, not lack.

Our starting position when we make requests of God matters.

Our job, our boss, our talent, our long hours, our second job, our sacrifices, our savings, our budgets…none of these things are sovereign in our lives, and it’s important not to separate sovereignty from provision.

I am not saying that we should do nothing, be lazy and not work “because our Father is our Provider”. The Bible does not support that selfish way of living.

We should give our best and be diligent, but we should also know that our Father is primarily looking for our trust and obedience and an unshakeable conviction that He alone truly is ordering our steps and providing our every need.

Psalm 23:1 NIV The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Provision is not from man. Provision is from God. This is where my confidence lies, and this is where my prayers should flow from.
