#3738 – Honesty & Trust

Good morning people who do not throw away your confidence in God

Life is not always easy. As I read the Bible, I see many who faced difficulties and challenges. As I walk through life, I have seen many face difficulties and challenges, including myself.

There are different schools of thought on what we should say in these times. My desire is not to give clichés, nor is it to come up with formulas. Rather, my simple yet deep prayer is that we follow the example of Jesus and of other great men and women of faith.

I believe God requires honesty and trust at the same time. I believe it’s ok to be ‘real’ with God, after-all, He knows what we think and feel. Yet I equally believe that our honesty can and should lead us to a place of quiet trust in and praise for our God.

I am going to include a whole chapter of Psalms today in which we see David be both honest with God and trusting of Him. I pray Father speaks to you.

Psalm 13:1-6 NIV How long, Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for He has been good to me.
