#3708 – Our Enemies

Good morning people who feast on God’s goodness when surrounded by enemies

Psalm 23:5 NIV You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

If we are not careful, our sole focus will be on the removal of our enemies; that which stands against God and His purpose in our lives.

Yet David tells us that this indescribably good banqueting table that God has prepared for us is found in the presence of our enemies. If anyone knew this as a reality, David did.

“I wonder if a shift of focus from our enemies to our God’s prepared banqueting table might just be the breakthrough that He desires for us?”

I have often said that ‘the presence of God is greater than the absence of sin’.

Similarly, today I feel to say that ‘the presence of God’s banqueting table of His delights, gifts and blessings is greater than the absence of our enemies’.

The greatest portion that is available for us on God’s prepared banqueting table is God Himself. ‘Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!’ (Psalm 34:8)

May God’s goodness overshadow the enemy’s darkness today.

May God Himself get our attention and may we enjoy Him, even in the presence of our enemies.
