Good morning people who do not step into the role of God
James 4:12 NIV There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and destroy. But you – who are you to judge your neighbour?
We can’t save people, therefore, we don’t have the right to destroy people.
We don’t create the Law, therefore, we don’t have the right to judge what people do with the Law.
I remember sometime back while I was out walking with God, that He said to me, “Steve, you can’t judge people because you judge imperfectly. I alone can judge, because I judge as a loving, perfect Father.”
As I meditate on the above verse, I picture it paraphrased like this:
Me: “Yeah, I know that You are the Lawgiver and Judge God, but I…”
God: “But you? Who are you to judge your neighbour?”
We must be sure to never elevate ourselves to God’s rightful position – we are not that big, and He is not that small.
Let God be God, and let’s get on with loving extravagantly as He showed us how to love.
