Good morning people who worship God by doing what He says
Jonah 1:8-9 NIV So they asked him, “Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What kind of work do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?” He answered, “I am a Hebrew and I worship the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”
Today’s lesson is sobering, but I believe the Spirit of God is doing something deep in some of you. Here it is:
In our disobedience, we can still think that we worship God.
Here we see Jonah running from God in outright and clear disobedience, yet his testimony to others is, “I worship the Lord, the God of heaven”.
Certain things can’t go together, and disobedience and true worship are two of these things.
Sure, we can sing songs, go to church, pay our tithes, read our Bibles, and even tell people about Jesus, but where there is defiant and unrepented of disobedience, there is no real worship happening.
I feel Father wants to shift some hearts today. I feel He wants to bring revelation truth to some who have gotten off-course as a result of disobedience.
Today is a day of realignment. Today is a day of repentance. Today is a day of true worship that honours God; worship that is matched with obedience to what God has said.
I’m praying for you my friends.
