Good morning people of freedom

Many times we falsely believe that freedom is doing what we want. Is this true freedom according to God’s perspective? I also believe that most people, including many Christians, focus their thoughts about freedom on what God is withholding from us and not what He has given to us. We see God’s heart and man’s heart clearly back in Genesis.

Genesis 2:16-17 And the Lord God commanded man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die”

God’s heart has always been to give us so much. Our heart has always been to want the little that God says we can’t have. God is also very clear on what happens when we do the things which God says we are not free to do; we will surely die. It can’t be any clearer than that and it is no different today.

James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

True freedom is living within God’s boundaries. This is easier when you trust that God knows best; we don’t. Today I have a very direct question for you. Do you focus more on all the wonderful things God has given us freedom to enjoy or do you focus on the few things you feel He is withholding from you? You will not be free until you walk within God’s boundaries. He knows best.
