#35 – Ancient Words

Good morning doers of the Word of God

Michael W. Smith sings a song written by Lynn DeShazo called Ancient Words. The chorus goes like this:

‘Ancient words, ever true; changing me and changing you. We have come with open hearts, oh let the ancient words impart.’

What value do we place on the Word of God? Do we pick and choose the parts we like and leave the rest? Or do we hold the Word of God in high honour? Do we simply read the Bible or do we come with open hearts allowing these ancient words to impart and to bring change?

The Word of God can impart life. It can impart truth and direction; but only if we allow it. The Word of God is as effective in our lives as we allow it to be. Many these days limit the transformational power of the precious Word of God with questions and stipulations.

The Word is life. The Word of God is ever true. The Word of God can change me and it can change you. Will you allow the Word of God to penetrate your heart today? Will you allow it to transform your mind and change your heart? Will you?
