#3151 – Choice and Action

Good morning people who set their mind and attention always on the Lord

Psalm  16:8 NIV I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

In the NIV84 version, ‘I keep’ is translated ‘I have set’.

I see in both of these statements, making a choice and taking action.

Life presses in from all sides; work, family, expectations of others, lists to get through, jobs to complete, people to see…many demands, varied and endless.

Yet God can still be before us at all times. Hebrews 12:2 encourages us to ‘fix our eyes on Jesus’. Again, we see the choice and the action. Both are important.

And a wonderful, blessed result of keeping our eyes on Jesus is, we will not be shaken. This does not mean we won’t feel anything, but it does mean that we will not be derailed or defeated.

God’s continual presence gives us comfort and confidence.

“Where do you choose to look today?”

I choose Jesus.
