#3142 – Sleep in Peace

Good morning people who sleep under the watchful eye of God the Father

Psalm 4:8 NIV In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

This Psalm was written by David, a man who had many challenges, battles and attacks from his enemies. His life was not easy, and I’m sure he had many thoughts running through his mind.

In fact, he starts this particular Psalm like this:

Psalm 4:1 NIV Answer me when I call to You, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

So David, who faced much opposition and had many challenges to pray about, stated in a prayer, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety”.

I pray that we too will boldly declare, and if needs be, prophesy to ourselves, that we will lie down in peace and sleep.

I know some of you have struggled for a long time with your sleep. Today, I join my faith with yours and speak ‘refreshing and peace-filled sleep’ to you in Jesus’ mighty Name. I also pray that this becomes your new normal.

Amen.
