Good morning people who get their sense of worth by Whose friend they are

As we continue through John 15, we come to one of my all time favourite invitations from Jesus to us. Here it is:

John 15:15 NIV I (Jesus) no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you.

I never get tired of hearing that God Almighty desires to call me ‘His friend’. We need to ensure we don’t take this for granted or become flippant with this incredibly mind-blowing truth!

Many people get their sense of self-worth and status in life by who their friends are. Sometimes we are even guilty of ‘dropping’ a name of someone famous that we know, and even more so, if we are actually friends.

Permit me to name drop myself for a moment…JESUS! Yes, I’m talking about the Son of God, the Eternal Word, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, the Great I Am…

…He calls me friend!!!

If you are feeling insecure or over-looked today, stop and thank God for the incredible gift of friendship with God Himself.

Jesus is my friend…and I’m His friend. You can’t get better than that!
