#31 – Pay Attention

Good morning holy people.

1Corinthians 9:27 I keep my body under control and make it my slave, so I won’t lose out after telling the good news to others.

It’s been said of some preachers that they preach to others because it’s easier to tell others to change than to change themselves. I think most preachers preach to others because they want to help others grow. We do not preach from a place of perfection but of a deep knowledge of our own dependency on God. Friends, I need God today; I need Him everyday. So do you.

Paul shares this thought that he’s got to keep a close eye on his own life to ensure he doesn’t get disqualified from the race. I need to do this too. The Bible says ‘it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine’. Big or small; sin is sin; compromise is compromise, and anything left undealt with has the power to destroy. The good news is God is willing and wanting to completely forgive us and help us move forward.

Maybe there are things in your life today that you need to ask forgiveness for from God and others. Maybe it’s a bad attitude, careless words, moral compromise, jealousy or unforgiveness. Don’t put it off. Repent and receive God’s forgiveness. Let’s continually pay attention to our own lives as well as encourage each other forward in God. Together we can all finish this race as winners.
