Good morning people who pursue knowing God more than knowledge of God’s Word
Luke 11:27-28 (NIV) 27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave You birth and nursed You.” 28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Blessing is connected to obeying what God says, not just knowing what God says.
Knowledge is never the goal – obedience is.
The best way to live a life of obedience is to live a life of intimacy with God. Knowing God is the best fuel for obeying God.
But some have placed a higher value and commitment to knowing God’s Word than to knowing God.
For those of you studying the Bible, whether in Bible Colleges, online curriculum or personal study, I beg you to always keep knowing God as your greatest priority and focus.
When the focus is right, the flow will be right. People of intimacy with God desire to obey Him, not because of law, but because of love.
“How’s your obedience to what God has said?”
The answer to this will identify how truly blessed you are.
