#283 – Practice Hospitality

Good morning generous people

Romans 12:13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Generosity reflects the heart of God. He is generous and gives selflessly to us. I believe we are to do the same for others; especially to those who are Believers.

Here’s a simple question that we should ask ourselves when we hear of someone in a challenging situation.

“Can I do something to meet this need?”

Too often we pray for others when we could meet the need ourselves. Sometimes saying a prayer is the easy way out and is not as loving as doing something practical. This is a challenge for me today also. Let’s be ones that meet needs and not just pray prayers. Rather than pray for an answer, let’s be the answer.

Today think about a situation that you have prayed for recently for another person. Now stop and think if there is anything you can practically do to help. If so, do it.

Lastly, don’t wait for someone to invite you over for a meal; initiate and practice hospitality. Too many Christians complain and even leave Churches because nobody showed interest in them and invited them over for dinner. In some situations, the culture of the Church may need to change but rather than complain and add to the problem, why not start a new trend; a trend of practicing hospitality. Who knows, you just might be the person to start something new in your Church.
