#274 – Consecrate

Good morning consecrated people

Dwight L. Moody said “Consecrate, then concentrate”.

Many times we want to achieve a lot in life and be efficient and that’s great. Here we are encouraged to ensure we are consecrated first.

Consecrate means to ‘sanctify, bless, set apart, make holy’.

Joshua 3:5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”

In other words, make sure you are in a right place with God, and then He can do amazing things through you. This is the same in our families, our work, our ministry; every part of life. We need to dedicate ourselves to God. We also need to commit all of our ways to God; we need to do everything as unto the Lord; we need to make sure everything we do is holy and we need to pray without ceasing. It’s always a ‘God thing’ first.

This will ensure that when we concentrate, when we put in the effort and hard work (and we must), the result will be blessing and fruitfulness. God wants us to be diligent. God wants us to be the best employees and students we can be. He wants us to concentrate and be effective but He wants us to consecrate ourselves first.
