#273 – Hope Plus

Good morning people of God

Romans 12:12 Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying.

Hope is vital to the human soul. Many times we find ourselves in situations that we wish; we hope, will get better. This word ‘hope’ here is talking about ‘expectation and anticipation’. This verse encourages us to expect and anticipate things getting better. This can only happen when we know God is in control and we fully submit to Him and His purpose for our lives.

Having patience in times of trouble is sometimes near-on impossible but we must remind ourselves, ‘with God, all things are possible’. We need to start with a belief that we can be patient and we also must keep our eyes on what God wants to produce in us as a result of our patience and perseverance (refer James 1:2-4).

In this verse we are encouraged again to never stop praying. The Bible reminds us of this many times. Why? Because God knows that often we stop praying in the times we need to most. Too many times we feel unworthy, so we stop praying; we have questions, so we stop praying; we are hurt, so we stop praying; life is tough, so we stop praying. These are the times we need to run into God. He alone is our strength, our hope, our shield, our deliverer.
