#2148 – Pay the Price

Good morning people who give their best to the One Who is Best

1 Chronicles 21:22-24 (NIV) David said to him, Let me have the site of your threshing floor so I can build an altar to the Lord, that the plague on the people may be stopped. Sell it to me at the full price.”Araunah said to David, “Take it! Let my lord the king do whatever pleases him. Look, I will give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the threshing sledges for the wood, and the wheat for the grain offering. I will give all this.”But King David replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying the full price. I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that costs me nothing.”

“Are we willing to pay the full price to sacrifice to the Lord or are we simply seeking the easy Christian life; the cheap Christen life?”

God sacrificed His best for us; He paid the full price. I believe this is something that is core to Who God is. He doesn’t try to cut corners, get a discount, use budget materials, skimp and save at every possible opportunity – no, He is the God Who gives His best and pays the full price for us. He also always gives His best to us.

“Do we reciprocate by giving to Him our best in our lives and worship?”

Our walk with God, our trust in Him, our commitment to Him and His purposes were never intended to be a part of our lives and something that we sometimes give time and focus to. God is an ‘everything God’; an ‘all-or-nothing God’…

…and we were created in His image; in His likeness. We are created to be and called to be sold out completely to God and His purposes. We are blessed to be able to give God everything – regardless of price. We are called to pay the full price.

“Do we?”
