#2145 – Fight Together

Good morning people who join with others in prayer

1 Chronicles 19:10-13 (NIV) Joab saw that there were battle lines in front of him and behind him; so he selected some of the best troops in Israel and deployed them against the Arameans. He put the rest of the men under the command of Abishai his brother, and they were deployed against the Ammonites. Joab said, If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you are to rescue me; but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will rescue you. Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in His sight.”

Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

It is essential to fight battles with others who are watching out for you.

We live in a time of independence; a time when people want to make it on their own; a time when people sing “I did it my way”.

This is not Who God is; He is the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. They work together all the time to fulfil Their good, perfect and pleasing plan. We are created in Their image and called to work together for the sake of the world that God so loved that He sent His one and only Son. Relationships are God’s idea.

If someone is struggling, let’s fight for them by fighting the enemy with them. It’s easy to say “I pray it works out”, but that can sometimes be a lot less than what is needed. Sometimes God makes us aware so we can pray with people and for people. Sometimes intercession is required.

The real enemy is never another person – we fight spiritual battles. Let’s fight together, not against each other. Let’s fight for the people we lead, not fight against them. Let’s fight for our leaders, not fight against them. Let’s fight for our families, not against them. ‘Together’ is God’s plan.

I declare that as we fight spiritual battles together, victory is ours through the power of the Holy Spirit!
