#2059 – Stand Firm

Good morning people who are committed to God and committed to people

(Today’s BIY written by Pastor Garry Leech)

Ephesians 6:14 (NIV) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.

The first thought from Ephesians 6 I want to focus on is these two words: Stand firm.

On what are we meant to stand firm? In whom are we meant to stand firm? I believe it is in God and in His power.

Ephesians 6:10 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

We cannot stand firm and fight for our relationships without the power of God. Sure we can try, and we might even have a little success, but true success comes when we stand firm in God.

I want to encourage us all today: We can only stand firm in God if we remain close to Him.

John 15:5 (NIV) I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.

“How’s your relationship with God going? Have you drifted away from the closeness that you once had?”

The number one relationship the enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy is our relationship with God – let’s not give him the satisfaction!

I encourage you to make a conscious choice to come closer to God today. He’s waiting with arms opened wide.
