#205 – Persecution

Good morning people of God

On one hand I would like to avoid any mention of the word ‘persecution’ but the Bible is very clear that it will be a part of the life of a Believer. In fact, the Bible tells us this is part of what we called to.

So the question is; what do we do in times of persecution and danger?

We pick up the Daniel story after the decree that if anyone worships any thing but king Darius for thirty days they will be thrown into the lion’s den.

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

In the face of certain death, Daniel did what he had done before and openly continued his relationship with God.

How do we live in the face of danger? What would we do if persecuted for our faith? Maybe we don’t know the answer to these questions but here’s a question we need to think about. Is our faith limited to the comfort zone or is it deep faith that trusts God totally and as a result would enable us to stand strong against severe adversity?

We live in a time where our faith and convictions will be tested. Will we be like Daniel and continue on or will we shrink back and give up? How we live now, our relationship with God now, our trust of God now will determine how we live then. I pray we all commit to daily walking with God and letting Him transform and change us.
