#170 – As He Is

Good morning Christ-followers

Revelation 1:10-16 tells us Jesus ‘has a loud voice like a trumpet, His eyes were like a blazing fire, His voice was like the sound of rushing waters, out of His mouth came a sharp double-edges sword and His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

For many, we prefer to see the meek and mild Jesus, and indeed He is that also, but the Bible also makes it clear that our Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is coming back again in such a triumphant and majestic way that the world will stop and be overwhelmed with awe. Tens of thousands of angels gather around the throne and cry out “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty”. They never stop declaring the glorious praises of Jesus yet we have had enough if we sing a song more than three times! Why is it? Because we need our eyes open to see Jesus as He is now. When this happens, and it will, we will also be singing God’s praises for eternity; no other response will be adequate.

My simple prayer for all of us today is this:

“Father, I pray that you open all of our eyes to see Jesus as He is. We are eternally grateful for the sacrifice of His life here on earth. We would not be able to enter into a deep relationship with You without it. But we are also aware that Jesus is no longer walking around as a man like us but He is now ascended to your right hand and He is shinning in all His splendour. Please help us to see Him as He is and may we always treat Him with honour and respect.”
