#169 – The Problem

Good morning people who desire to see clearly

The problem is many people, both in the world and in the Church, see Jesus more as He was and not as He is now. Some see Him as a baby in a manger, or a boy in the temple, or as a man walking with His disciples, healing the sick and raising the dead and some even see Him on the cross and resurrected. Every picture portrayed of Jesus in movies, books, and hanging on walls and even in our minds is of the human Jesus.

What this has done throughout the centuries is it has made Him like us, human, and therefore the awe and respect for who Jesus is has often been lost. There’s too much over-familiarity with Jesus. This will never be a meeting of two equals. If we got a true revelation of Jesus as He is now, we would fall down in awe, respect and godly fear.

The disciple John is commonly accepted as the one that Jesus loved the most out of His disciples; He was Jesus closest friend. Yet this same John had a completely different response when He saw Jesus as He is now.

Revelation 1:17 When I saw Him, I fell at his feet as though dead.

This speaks of awe, respect, honour and holy fear. We need this in the world today but we also need it back in the Church. May we all see Jesus clearly as John did and may our hearts be overwhelmed with His majesty and wonder.
