#160 – Don’t Give Up

Good morning determined people of God

I feel that some of you are on the verge of giving up. Life seems too difficult. The challenges seem to stay constantly before you. God hasn’t answered your prayers the way you expected. Maybe it would be easier to give up and stop believing because at least you won’t be disappointed again.

I once heard a great preacher say “Your set-back is a set-up for a come-back”. Greatness is forged through adversity. Those people who you and I think are the great leaders and influencers of the world, knew what it was to not give up.

Hebrews 12:2-3 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Rather than give up today, I encourage you to look up. Jesus is always our ultimate example and He too could have given up. Sometimes we think it was easy on Him because He was God. Remember He prayed with such earnest in the garden, that He sweated drops of blood as He wrestled with His humanity and the agonizing road ahead. For you and I, He didn’t give up. Hebrews encourage us to keep our eyes on the prize ahead also, so that we don’t grow weary and lose heart. I want to speak the truth in to your spirit today; you can keep on going. You may not feel like it, but with God’s help and your eyes fixed on Him, you can. May be today you need to share your pain with someone you trust so they can walk with you; together we can cross the finish line as winners.

May hope and faith replace fear and doubt today.
