Good morning people with a purpose

Life can throw up all sorts of challenges and difficulties. While God’s plan is to give us abundant life, the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. But we are on the winning side! Does that mean everything just comes easily? Unfortunately not. Here’s few things we can do to help us walk the way God intends in our daily lives.

Jude 20-21 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

There’s an encouragement here to build ourselves up in our most holy faith. I love the wording of that. There is a responsibility on us to stir our faith and to always keep the view that our faith itself is holy; it is set apart. We should always be so grateful that God has chosen us and called us as His own.

We are also encouraged to pray in the Holy Spirit. I know that this is a huge source of personal encouragement to me. When my spirit is down and overwhelmed, edifying myself in God through the Holy Spirit is a key that works. I believe this is talking about praying in the power of the Holy Spirit and not just in our own strength. Praying in tongues is also something that has helped me very much in my spiritual walk.

Thirdly we are encouraged to keep ourselves in God’s love. It is so easy to lose sight of God’s incredible love due to questions and contradictions that we don’t understand. We really need to guard against this. God is love and God does love us more than words can say. This is always true and never changes.

May we all guard our hearts and walk in faith and love through the power of the Holy Spirit.
