#5806 – Spiritual Discernment

Good morning people who bless others through accurately discerning good from evil.

Hebrews 5:14 NIV But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Today is our 30th wedding anniversary, and I am blessed beyond measure to be married to the most amazing and spiritually insightful woman of God that I know. Sally McCracken is a gift of God to me personally, but she is also a gift to the body of Christ.

Today I want to bless you by sharing Sally’s new devotion that is now available on YouVersion. I’ll put the link at the end of this BIY, but first let me whet your appetite.

I believe that spiritual discernment is a game-changer for every believer. In a time when the lines are being blurred, we must anchor ourselves to the truth that does not change. But we equally need to be equipped to know how to spiritually discern between good and evil. Sally unpacks this exceptionally well in her devotion.

As you take the time to walk through this 10-day plan, you will learn what discernment is and what it is not. You will learn the difference between natural observation and spiritual discernment. Sally will empower you on how to develop in discernment and you will see how necessary it is in everyday life. You will also learn about the gift of discernment and be blessed as you look at the fruit of discernment.

Here’s a quote from this devotion that stirred my heart deeply:

Spiritual discernment is recognizing what stands in opposition to God’s purposes and identifying the characteristics of Jesus Christ that will remove it.

Powerful! Oh, how necessary this is for every believer!

My prayer is that we will see a generation of people anchored to the truth, and I know that ‘Spiritual Discernment’ will sow wonderfully into this becoming a reality.
