Good morning people who have been delegated authority from God in heaven.

The word authority means, ‘the right to act in a specified way, delegated from one person to another’.

Our authority comes from our authenticity (being genuine) and our accuracy (being exact).

Spiritual authority never originates from us; it is FROM GOD. This was even true of Jesus! Look at the following insightful scriptures.

Matthew 28:18 NIV Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

We know that Jesus had all authority, after all, He was the Son of God. But that’s not what this verse says. Jesus said about Himself that He had been given all authority. In other words, He received it from Another; from His Father!

John 14:10 NIV Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

Jesus received His authority from His Father in heaven, and even His words came from His Father. So, it is to be true in our lives also.

Now, I want us to see something powerful. In context, the works of the Father were seen and released in the words of Jesus! The words that Jesus spoke were the works that the Father was doing!

The prophetic words that we speak release the work of God in people’s lives!

More accurately, the works of the Father come before the prophetic words that we speak. God is already working before we show up!

Therefore, the following scripture is so important. 

John 3:30 NIV “He (God) must become greater; I must become less.”

May our lives be lived for the glory of the One we are called to represent and re-present.
