#3564 – Gideon’s Response

Good morning people who desire to see what God says through Father’s eyes

The disciples and Moses weren’t alone in their inability to SEE what God was saying to them. Let’s look at Gideon’s situation.

The Israelites were again in slavery for years to the Midianites. When they cried out to the Lord, He decided to rescue them, and His chosen person to do this was Gideon. PRAISE GOD!

So, the angel of the Lord came and spoke to Gideon (a divine encounter) and spoke to him clearly with a prophetic commission:

Judges 6:12, 14 NIV When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” … The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

Obviously Gideon received this word by faith and responded with a resounding YES right?

Well, here’s his response:

Judges 6:15 NIV “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

“Did Gideon not hear God?”

Yes, he heard God, but he did not SEE what God had said, as Father wanted him to see it.

“Father, give us EYES TO SEE what you have said, we pray in Jesus’ Name.”
