Good morning people who are leaning in and asking God for spiritual sight to see
The disciples, Moses, Gideon…and then there was Jeremiah.
In Jeremiah 1, we see the clear call and commission of God to Jeremiah. Have a look:
Jeremiah 1:4-5 NIV The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
POWERFUL! Such a clear word! Such an encouraging word! Such an enlarging word!
“So, what was Jeremiah’s response to what he had clearly heard from God?”
Jeremiah 1:6 NIV “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
He starts well when he acknowledges God’s sovereignty; God’s ability to do anything! (Many times, we do the same.)
But then there’s a shift to natural sight; to his present reality.
Natural sight – our present reality – is often the enemy of spiritually SEEING what Father is saying to us.
Tomorrow we will look at God’s response to Jeremiah and then God’s follow-up question to him.
