#1315 – Righteousness

Good morning people with a loving God,

Romans 3:20,22-24,27,31 Therefore no-one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin…This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus…Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith…Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

So much powerful truth in these verses!!!

Obeying the law does not make us righteous. The purpose of the law simply reveals the true condition of our hearts; we are sinful people in need of saving.

Faith in Jesus Christ and what He did makes us righteous. Righteousness is about God and what He’s done, not about us and what we have done.

Therefore boasting about how good we are and how much we do the right thing – according to the law – is pointless.

Yet we don’t ignore the law because we have faith; rather we uphold it. But it becomes an internally motivated love response out of gratitude, not an externally motivated guilt or need response out of fear of punishment.

Thank God for His grace, mercy, love and goodness!

Thank God for HIS righteousness!!!
