Good morning people who receive life from God,
(By Helen Calder – on team at DMM)
Isaiah 61:3 ‘…and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.’
Colossians 3:12 ‘Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.’
How would you sum up the atmosphere around your life right now? What about your inner attitude towards yourself, God or others?
Sometimes past struggles and experiences—things we have done, or even things others have done to us—can affect our attitude, or leave an atmosphere hanging around our lives.
Is there something from last year, or even before that, that is still affecting the way you feel?
Jesus has paid the price in full to take your mourning and replace it with joy. Further, through God’s Spirit living within you, you have a ready source of love, joy, peace.
The Bible says we can choose the attitude that we wear; we can choose the atmosphere that surrounds our lives. Paul’s instruction in Colossians is, ‘Put on and put off.’
Put on the garments—the attitude and atmosphere—that Jesus has provided.
Let’s determine today that we will live the life Jesus paid for, and not settle for less.
