Good morning people who see yourselves as God sees you,
(By Helen Calder – on team at DMM)
2 Corinthians 5:16-19 ‘So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ… not counting people’s sins against them.’
The way of the world is to judge people by their weakest and darkest moments. Think of any celebrity who has fallen or made major mistakes. It is interesting to see how from then on, they are defined in the media and the world’s eyes by that moment of weakness.
The Bible says, if you are in Christ, if you have trusted in His work on the cross for your salvation, then He has taken your weakness, sin, and shame and given you His perfect record.
And yet how many times do we stumble or trip up—and then allow those times of weakness or sin to define us?
No matter what has happened in the past; no matter what has taken place even in this past year, now is the time to determine that you will not see yourself as contaminated or limited by those things.
God sees your life as a clean slate, and any other perspective is less than His viewpoint of your life.
As you enter this New Year, are you seeing yourself as God sees you—a new creation in Christ, with your sins not counted against you?
Today, make the choice to see yourself as the Father sees you.
