#1275 – In Temptation

Good morning people with a faithful God,

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

The Holy Spirit leads submitted people, even when we find ourselves in the wilderness.

Sometimes we believe that God would not allow us to go into the wilderness; into a difficult situation. This is simply not true, and it’s this belief, not the situation itself, that is disempowering. God leads godly people – always – everywhere.

The Holy Spirit does not leave us in the moment of temptation.

He is there with us, to strengthen us and help us, yes even when we feel we need it most. God is bigger than any temptation we face. God is more powerful than the power and pull of any temptation we face. That’s good news and it’s in God that our confidence should be grounded.

The Holy Spirit is still sovereign in our most difficult times.

God doesn’t lose His sovereignty in our lives when we feel powerless. Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days, without food, and under constant harassment from the devil – yet God was still sovereign in His life. Job lost everything and suffered terrible pain for a long period of time – yet God was still sovereign in his life. Joseph suffered unbelievable rejection and betrayal for many years – yet God was still sovereign in his life.

You may be in a desert place where there seems to be no end in sight – yet God is still sovereign in your life if you are submitted to Him. Your wilderness is not more powerful than your God!

May you know the power of the Holy Spirit in your life today.
