Good morning good friends of God,

Numbers 12:6-8a He said, “Listen to My words: When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal Myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams. But this is not true of My servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house. With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles…

It’s awesome when God speaks to His people through dreams and visions. It’s awesome when God speaks to His people through prophetic words and other gifts of the Holy Spirit that have been given to edify, encourage and bring comfort. 

But I am captured by the end of this passage…with him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles…

The phrase ‘face to face’ in light of the previous statements about ‘speaking in dreams and visions’ implies a level of intimacy, transparency and deep friendship.

God and Moses were close friends…

…and God desires to be a closer Friend to us than we have ever imagined.

There is a deeper level of relationship available for all of us. This is what I want. I don’t just want a vague relationship with God; I want close intimacy.

What do you desire?

“Father, we desire You more. We desire to know You on deeper levels. We desire to hear You more clearly. We ask that You reveal and remove all that hinders this deeper level of ‘face to face’ friendship with You. We ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
