Good morning people who lay hold of what God has done,

Receiving from God, unlike receiving from people, is active, not passive – we are receiving what has already been given – it’s laying hold of.

Therefore:

It’s not, “Well if God wants to give me peace, I will receive it” – NO! – It is, “God has given peace to those who keep their mind fixed on Him. Therefore, I will TAKE ACTION and keep my mind fixed on God“. The result is peace.

It’s not, “Well if God wants to give me joy, I will receive it” – NO! – It is, “God has given joy to those who live in His presence. Therefore, I will TAKE ACTION and live in God’s presence”. The result is joy.

It’s not, “Well if God wants to give me direction in life, I will receive it” – NO! – It is, “God has given direction through His Word which is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Therefore, I will TAKE ACTION and I will know what God says in His Word. The result is direction.

It’s not, “Well if God wants to give me the ability to overcome temptation, I will receive it” – NO! – It is, “God has given a way out of every temptation, He is faithful and His Word empowers me to overcome. Therefore, I will TAKE ACTION and hide God’s Word in my heart.  The result is overcoming temptation (I will not sin against Him).

It’s not, “Well if God wants to give me all my needs, I will receive from Him” – NO! – It is, “God has given me everything I need for life and godliness. Therefore, I will TAKE ACTION and seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. The result is God will supply my needs (all the things I NEED will be added to me).

When we wait to receive from God, the point of action is on us. The reason for this is God has already given all we need.
