#1230 – Hurting People

Good morning people who catch God’s heart

We are looking at nine things to be mindful of in fulfilling our mission.

Point number four: God cares about people in slavery.

Exodus 3:7 The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of My people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.”

God’s mission will always include people.

Have you ever had a revelation of God’s heart for humanity? God cares about people much more, in fact, immeasurably more, than any human ever has. Some great people have loved people greatly…but nothing compared to the heart of God for those He created.

God has a special place in His heart for those who are suffering and hurting.

I pray we all ask God for a revelation today of His heart for people who are suffering. It’s only as we feel what God feels, that we can fulfil the mission that He has given to us.

I don’t believe Jesus could just walk past someone in need without His heart being moved with compassion for them. Seeking and saving the lost, ministering life and healing to the broken and hurting was why Jesus came.

Jesus constantly gravitated towards people with broken lives and broken limbs. Here’s what Jesus said on one occasion when the religious leaders asked why He associated with people in slavery.

Matthew 9:12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”

May I kindly suggest that we are called to be doctors to those who are sick; we are called to meet the needs of those who are hurting. This will always be part of God’s mission for us.
