Good morning who God partners with

Exodus 3 shows us nine things to be mindful of in fulfilling our mission.

Point number four: God cares about people in slavery.

Point number five: God will come and rescue people in slavery…but it will be through you.

Exodus 3:8a,10 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey…So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

I read these verses and think God pulled a fast one on Moses. Have a look at it carefully today.

God very clearly states He will come down, He will rescue the people and He will bring them into a good and spacious land. The whole focus here is God will do the supernatural work.

At this point I reckon Moses must be celebrating and saying, “GO GOD!!!” At times we probably do the same when we hear God say He will do something incredible.

And then God seems to seamlessly flow into another sentence that is quite the opposite. Here’s the fast one that God pulled on Moses:

“So now, go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring My people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

I can imagine Moses saying, “Now hang on a moment God! You just said YOU will do all this! What’s this about ME having to do it? Ain’t that YOUR job?!?!?!”

God’s plan, is to do His work, on earth, through US. Read that again.

God rescued Israel…through Moses. God will rescue people you know…through you. That’s just the way God works…and I think it’s amazing and wonderful.
