Good morning people who trust in God
“Don’t be anxious”.
Well that’s easier said than done if we’re honest. I don’t always get this right. In fact, the reason I am writing this is because I was recently driving home feeling quite anxious about the length of my ‘To Do’ list. Ever been there?
I know this scripture in Philippians well. I’ve preached on it many times and encouraged others to ‘not be anxious about anything’. But that doesn’t mean I find it easy or that I don’t need to be continually reminded of it. How about you?
So let’s have another look at these powerful verses and see what God would like to say to us today.
Philippines 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
It’s reasonably clear isn’t it. Do you notice the progression and the components in these verses? Do you notice the promise at the end?
There’s so much in here. Let’s have a look today and tomorrow at a few things.
There is nothing that I need to be anxious about. Worry will not change the outcome of any situation. It will however use up vital energy needed to get through some tough times.
