Good morning people who give thanks to God

Philippines 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

As mentioned yesterday, there is nothing that we need to be anxious about.

So we’re told not to be anxious about anything, while in the same breath we’re told to talk to God about everything. This is pretty inclusive here. Everything means everything. Surely not everything? Yes everything!

The truth is that there is nothing in our lives that God is not interested in. The reason for this is not that every detail of every event is important to God, but that we are. You see, the common denominator in every situation as discussed in these verses, is us. And we are more important to God than we can imagine.

I think the phrase ‘with thanksgiving’ is important. Not every situation is a good one, so it’s not saying we are to thank God for every bad thing that happens in our life. This is talking specifically about the attitude and focus as we approach God. We either approach God about the present situation from a place of complaining about what’s happening
