#1158 – Correct Focus

Good morning people pursuing the right thing

For most of us, our greatest challenge is not a lack of knowing how we should live. Most of us know what the Bible says. We know what the Bible requires about relationships, finances, work, attitudes, actions, thoughts, words, serving, gifts etc. If you don’t, have a look, it’s all in His Word, the Bible.

In fact, we know this so well that it becomes the largest thing in our focus. We pray about it, meditate on the Word about it, talk about it, go to counselling about it, hear sermons about it, preach sermons on it…all these life changes that are essential for godly living are front and centre in our minds.

And the problem with this is God Himself should be front and centre. God Himself should be the largest thing in our focus. God Himself should be what (Who) we are seeking to know more on increasing levels. God Himself and a desire to know Him better is the correct primary focus in our lives.

And one of the wonderful benefits of this correct focus is that which we strive to do will start to happen more! That’s right, but it will be a work of the Holy Spirit and not a partial result from us striving.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we, with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Lord’s Spirit.

Let me make this verse clearer for you today. When we get revelation of Who God is on deeper and clearer levels, and then keep the beauty of the deeper revelation of Who God is in the centre of our vision, the Holy Spirit will do what He was sent to do and He will lead us into all truth and initiate change where necessary. He will change us into the image of God we are looking at.

Maybe it’s time to change our focus.
