#83 – Surrendered

Good morning surrendered people

To the degree that we surrender is the degree to which we are free. In natural things this is the opposite of the truth. In a war, if you surrender, you lose your freedom. But in a war when you surrender, you are surrendering to the enemy. In spiritual things we are by default a prisoner of the enemy; many times that enemy is our own selfish desires and the things of the flesh. Therefore when we surrender as Christians we are surrendering from the enemy to God.

We need to be ones that not only receive Christ as our Saviour but ones that fully submit to His will for our lives in every area. Many people today want the assurance of eternal life and the benefits of being a Christian but they don’t want to lose their own freedom; their own rights to do what they want. I want to make it clear today. When we don’t want to lose our independence and freedom then we have already lost it and we are also deceived. We are deceived because we do not understand that true freedom can only be found in full submission to Christ and His will for our lives. We can’t have the best of both worlds; that is double-mindedness and that is dangerous.

God wants you to be free today. I want you to be free today. Therefore I ask you this question. To what degree are you submitted to the Lordship of Christ in your everyday life? To that degree, is the degree to which you are free. If you want greater freedom, surrender more.

Luke 22:42 Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.
