Good morning people the Lord is growing
Did you know that not every test is from the devil? That’s right, God often tests our hearts and there are very good reasons for that.
Exodus 15:25b There the Lord made a decree and a law for them, and there He tested them.
Exodus 16:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.”
A test from God is normally a test of trust. God’s test for the children of Israel in the verse above was to see if they would trust Him as their Provider tomorrow and not just today. It’s easy when there is plenty available now to not trust God for tomorrow. But when times are lean, when God says only take this much, then it is a test of whether we completely trust God or not.
The best way to approach a test is to view it as an opportunity to do good. Sometimes we fear situations that are simply opportunities to trust God and live under His blessing and protection. Think about it.
One of the greatest tests ever can be found in Genesis 22. This is where God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. I cannot start to imagine the wrestle that took place within Abraham. But in this story we see that Abraham trusted God completely and the result of Abraham’s (and Isaac’s) obedience to the test was blessing beyond what could be imagined.
If God tells us to do something, He always knows what He is doing. He also always looks through the eyes of eternity and not just the here and now.
So do you trust God? Do you trust Him completely?
I pray you are excited about your next opportunity to do good!
