#71 – Talk It Out

Good morning my friends

You may be uncomfortable with this, but we need to be honest. You are receiving this later than normal because I needed a sleep in because I was exhausted. I was exhausted because I was sobbing my heart out last night talking to my wife about how I was feeling inside. I strive to be perfect and although I know it is not healthy, I default to this. The end result is a build up of emotions that is very unhealthy.

Why am I sharing this?

Many times people go through major challenges and they do it alone. We don’t want to be seen as weak and we often aren’t sure how to express how we feel. Many times we hold on to things for so long they end up exploding and many times in destructive ways. Many of us, me included, need to do better at being vulnerable and sharing how we are really going. We live in a world where we view people ministering under the anointing and we can think that is how they live 24/7. The truth is we all go through challenges and we all need to talk it out.

So what should we do?

You and I both need people we can talk it out with in a healthy way. Some don’t talk at all and that’s not good. Some talk constantly to everyone and everything is always negative; this also is not good. We all need a few people that we can share deeply with without any fear of judgement. We need to not only dump how we feel but talk it out. Yesterday I talked to my wonderful friend Grant and my amazing wife Sal and today, although exhausted, I feel like a weight has been lifted off me.

Some of you today need to talk things out with someone otherwise you’re going to explode. Don’t bottle it up and don’t do life alone; it’s time to be vulnerable and to share. Pick the people wisely but do pick someone with the wisdom and heart of God. It’s time to be real.

Galatians 6:2 Help carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.
