Good morning people who are mature in your handling of the Word of God.
Colossians 1:25-27 NIV I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness—the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
To present to you the word of God in its fullness.
The word of God is Jesus.
Preaching apart from Jesus isn’t really preaching. Jesus is the message that we are to proclaim. People need Jesus. More than good teaching on this subject or that subject, people need Jesus.
And people need Jesus in His fullness.
Preaching the love of Jesus without the truth of Jesus is not preaching His fullness. Preaching the justice of God without preaching the mercy and forgiveness of God is not preaching His fullness.
The word of God is also the Bible.
Poor handling of God’s Word always damages and never helps. God’s Word is God’s Word; it is what He is saying. Our part is to present the fullness of God’s Word and allow the Holy Spirit to do a wonderfully deep work in people’s lives.
