Good morning precious people who yearn to be intimate with the heart of God.
There is a significant difference between reading the Bible and praying, and truly and personally meeting with God intimately.
There is a significant difference between revelation about a scripture, and revelation about God from spending time in the scriptures.
There is a significant difference between asking our Father for things, and communing in conversation and intimacy with our Father.
There is a significant difference between enjoying praise and worship, and enjoying God Himself through praise and worship.
There is a significant difference between entering into your secret place with God, and entering into God in your secret place. Please read this last sentence again.
Matthew 6:6 NIV “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
This scripture is not so much about going into a particular room as it is about removing yourself from all distractions. This is something that most people need to decide to do better. We don’t need to learn how to do it, we just need to decide to do it differently.
What is needed so that it is truly just you and God in the secret place?
Do you need to get back to a physical bible and a notebook?
Do you need to turn your devices off or put them in another room?
Do you need to change the time that only you and God meet together without any distractions?
I want to finish by saying something very important: Everyone gets distracted from their time with God or in their time with God – everyone. You are not alone in this, and you will not always be completely in the Spirit in these times. Our minds can drift and we can have dry times when it feel like God is absent. All of this is common to all.
Therefore, I want you to know that this is not a legalistic, “You need to do better!” lecture – not at all. I simply want to love us all enough to invite us into a deeper place of intimacy with God in the secret place.
Will you accept Father’s most beautiful invitation?
