Good morning people who are ready for God to move anywhere and anytime He desires.
Mark 1:32-34 NIV That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. The whole town gathered at the door, and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.
Remember the context here. Jesus had finished His ministry at the synagogue for the day, and now He was at Simon and Andrew’s home for the evening. Dinner was probably on the stove and Jesus was no doubt ready to relax.
But people with desperate needs came to Jesus.
I’m drawn to the chaos that must have been present. This scripture tells us that the whole town gathered at the door. This is not two or three people popping in! This crowd was filled with sick people and demon-possessed people. Now, this is an interesting meeting about to take place, and all in someone’s home after hours!
I think ministry might just look a little different to the sanitised and safe little church meetings we can sometimes plan for in order to enjoy God.
I am interested in the last line of our scripture today: He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.
Demons know who Jesus is and they fear Him greatly. I never want a demon to know who Jesus is better than I know who Jesus is. I want to know God more and more! I want to go deeper in revelation truth of who our indescribably good and powerful God is!
I pray Father takes us all beyond our comfort zones and personal preferences into miracle meetings – anywhere and anytime. May lives be saved, bodies be healed, and demons be cast out. May it all be about true freedom in Jesus’ name. Amen!
